A Country Church’s Journey to Financial Wellness

Bishop Mary will tell you that not so very long ago our little church in the Laurentians was a mission church that needed financial help, even with the oil bills. It came very close to closing, but today Holy Trinity Church, Lakefield, not only pays its way without any assistance from the Diocese, but it also operates consistently in the black, and it has accomplished a great deal over the past few years.  Despite the fact that we have only a handful of parishioners in the pews on any given Sunday morning, we have become a financially confident church.

Hurricane Matthew - How can YOU Help?

PWRDF has announced an initial grant of $15,000 through the ACT Alliance for relief efforts to support communities affected by Hurricane Matthew in Haiti.

Before the storm, ACT members prepared, helping to evacuate vulnerable people, preparing hygiene and shelter kits for those displaced by the storm and distributing food to those in need.

ACT continues to work with affected communities to discover the specific needs and to address them, and PWRDF will continue to support those efforts, providing food, medical aid, shelter, clean water and more.

Quand je repense à cette semaine, je crois que le Seigneur était bel et bien au travail, au-dessus et au-delà de nos agendas individuels ou corporatifs. Je suis revenue avec une grande compréhension quant à la diversité, aux intérêts et aux problématiques des membres de notre Église anglicane du Canada, en pensant aussi à l’amour et à la passion que tous apportent au service de Jésus-Christ.
