New Lesson Plan for leaders of Children and Youth Ministry

As the seasons change and daylight recedes, this may have us reflecting on our relationship to both the dark and the light. We created a lesson plan for children, youth and family ministry leaders to support this theme.
SAMPLE: Lesson Plan: “From Darkness to Light”
Theme: Darkness and Light Age Range: 5–15 years (with adaptable sections)
Setting: Sunday School / Youth Group Duration: ~60 minutes
Focus: Understanding light and darkness in Scripture and life — as symbols of hope, change, awareness, and God’s presence.
Pedagogical Approach: Inclusive, critical-thinking-based, creative, and affirming of diverse perspectives. Theological Orientation: (drawing from liberation, ecological, feminist, and contemplative theologies).
