Dear friends,

It is with honour and humility that I reach out to you as your new Bishop in this season of giving. Thanks to your generous gifts, last year we were able to contribute more than $14,000 to support our curates’ ministry. Because of that support they were able to serve Hispanic and Ukrainian communities in the Granby area, lead a Revive course in Sainte-Agathe and Arundel, and enrich the youth ministry in the West Island. Supporting our curates has brought new life and opportunity to the diocese.

As I begin my ministry among you, I have reflected on what is most important for our church today; it is time to focus on parish growth. Our parishes—like life-giving baobab trees—are the centers of diocesan life. With your partnership we can continue to provide resources, programs, and peer-to-peer support that will foster renewal and growth across our parishes.

I believe that the growth of our communities should not be measured solely by people attending our services. Beyond attendance, growth lies in our communities' ability to manage themselves effectively, to provide a space where everyone can flourish, and to open themselves up to the society around us. This will make our presence a small light that nourishes hope and, ultimately, draw new people to us.

My humble work among you is to encourage you to use the gifts you have received from the Lord to bless the Church's mission. I can’t do this alone. Be assured that your gift today will continue to bless the Church for years to come. Enclosed, you will find an envelope in which you are invited to put a generous donation. Or, if you prefer, you can donate online: www.montreal.anglican.ca/

Unless you specify otherwise, half of your donation will go to Giving with Grace which funds projects at the national church level, including The Healing Fund, military chaplaincies, indigenous ministries and more. For more information on Giving with Grace visit www.anglican.ca/giving/.

‘‘A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.’’ (Proverbs 11:25)

With my best wishes for peace, hope, and good health!

The Rt. Rev. Victor-David Mbuyi Bipungu

P.S. Gifts of $25 or more are eligible for a tax receipt, which will be issued in February 2026.
