Witness

St. Matthias Church

The on-going life of the Parish family is our business. One basic necessity is the provision of adequate funding to maintain and develop the many programs offered by the Parish. Most of our annual income comes from the contributions of the members. The stewardship of our individual financial resources, so that we give a worthy proportion of our money for the work of God in this place, is required of us all.

While the Incumbent and Church Wardens of St. Matthias' Church (The Corporation) maintains legal responsibility for the temporal affairs of the parish, it is the Executive Committee which exercises leadership in the direction of the parish's program and budget. In this, it is responsible to the Vestry and the congregation. The Executive Committee comprises leaders of the various groups and committees, and duties are shared through the operation of a number of committees.

Witness requires the stewardship of money, time, abilities, and possessions God has given us. It involves developing our knowledge so that we can share with others what we believe; it demands that we offer fellowship and service to others in the Church and to those in the wider community. Witness is about the way we conduct our lives.

There are many opportunities in the Parish family for education, fellowship, and service. Familiarise yourself with the information in this directory so that you can share it with others, and participate in the witness of the body of Christ in the Parish.
