Continuing education is essential for the maturing Christian. The Christian life is a journey with many stages. As we move on we need to explore the situations presented to us. Bible study, prayer, and the examination of questions of faith are integral parts
Lenten ProgramWe usually have a Lenten program which is followed by Compline on Tuesday evenings in Lent. Ash Wednesday is observed with The Penitential Rite and Imposition of Ashes. More information will be provided. Within the parish congregation, many groups operate to ensure that work is done, needs met, and funds provided. Information is given below about these groups whose service is so valueable to the life of the community.
Music ProgramThe parish music program is centered on providing music for the sung services on Sundays. The choir is composed of men, women and trebles. We have a "Cherub Choir" of very young children who are benefiting from musical training; they sing on special occasions with the choir. Sunday SchoolClasses for children from pre-school through the 6th grade meet at 10:30 AM in the Lower Hall under the care of skilled volunteer teachers. The "Whole People of God" curriculum is a basis for teaching, with special supplements providing a comprehensive Christian education for our children. Activity work supplies fellowship opportunities for the little ones, and children are involved in various service projects during the year. Older students are encouraged to assist as "Helpers" in Church School, as are parents, grandparents, and other interested adults. |
