Ministries and Missions

Youth Ministries
Youth ministry begins with a well-run nursery staffed by adults and teenagers. There is a Sunday School program (Mostly called the “The Jammers” = The Jesus and Me’ers) for kindergarten to grade six. Our youth group meets Thursdays at 7:30 pm. Our younger members are also involved in Sunday worship, doing seasonal plays, as well as planning a number of social activities including – believe it or not – ice fishing! Their newest initiative has been around microcredit. They are now part of a team of people providing internet loans through Kiva. At St. Mary’s, all ages have a place, and that place is at the center.
Ministry of Hospitality

At St. Mary’s, we love to socialize. Each Sunday, we share in coffee and tea before and after each service. Once every month after the 10:00 service we share a meal in the church. With regular pot luck suppers, wine and cheese parities, music concerts and dance classes, we find time in our busy schedules to enjoy each others company throughout the week.

Other Ministries Offered

As well as worship, study, and youth ministries, we offer a comprehensive variety of pastoral services: hospital visiting, counseling, marriage/baptism/confirmation preparation, community service and outreach.

Mission Activities

As well as our local Church, we support a variety of global missions through the “Primate’s World Relief and Development Fund.” These include several street missions in Montreal such as “Dans La Rue,” two women’s shelters, a variety of community groups such as the Alzheimer’s Support Group and MS research. Our Sunday school does special projects to raise needed resources for Mille End Community Mission and St Michael’s Mission. Our Youth groups have supported a foster child for 8 years through the Christian’s Children Fund of Canada. We have made a decision to serve only fair trade tea and coffee and we sell them each Sunday before and after worship. We've expanded our sales to include tea, chocolate, sugar, and  rice. Learn more about fair trade from Transfair Canada, the nation's leading fair trade certifying agency.

St Mary's newest outreach is a 50 foot diameter yellow walking labyrinth painted on our parking lot. A form of walking prayer, time will tell where this leads us.
