The Anglican churches in Montreal would like to know how to better support parents, be they church-goers, members of other faith communities, “spiritual-but-not-religious”, or just curious about this dimension of human life. We want to know how people are meeting the spiritual needs of their families and what kinds of questions they may be asking – not because we have answers but because we have questions, too.
If you are a parent, please take a minute to fill out the survey.

It’s a quiet spot, just far enough from the city to feel like you’re truly away. The Manoir d’Youville sits on a small peninsula in Châteauguay. The only things around it are ice, the roaring water under the ice, and a small nature preserve. It’s a perfect spot to get away and reset your brain.
And that’s exactly what we did during the Youthwork 101 training weekend organized by MTL Youth. Youth workers from the Dioceses of Montreal and Ottawa got together to take a closer look at how we do youth ministry. We also contemplated an even more important question… why do we do it?

This year's Ontario Summer Training Institute for Church Leaders is designed to offer not just inspiration and new understanding of Christ’s call in our changed and changing context, but most especially, practical help in answering that question, “How?”. In this workshop, we will explore how we can shift our congregational mindset from one of, “How can we fix the church?”, to one of, “How can we be the presence of Jesus in the presence of ‘the other’?”, and re-learn the ‘practices of belonging’ ourselves, so that we can then turn out from ourselves toward the communities God loves, in which we live.

"Amended" The theme of this Synod is: “Called to Serve”. Do we come to this Synod with any expectations that God might be up to something in our Diocese or do we have the attitude, “same old, same old”?
